NEDA-Proficient End Of Life Doula
Michael completed end of life doula training with the Peaceful Presence Project. He is an active hospice volunteer and frequently visits Partners in Care Hospice House and the Lodge in Sisters with his therapy dog Chasqui. Michael feels called to accompanying people on their end of life journey after losing his wife to a very short, unexpected, and intense battle with cancer. Many questions were left unaddressed.
Michael is a past Board President for Age Friendly Sisters Country (AFSC) and he enjoys volunteering with other community initiatives in Central Oregon when time permits.
Michael’s career has spanned the non-profit, business, and government sectors. He has served in a number of executive management positions, including a 30-year career as a foreign service officer with the U.S. Agency for International Development, with assignments in six developing countries. He is fluent in Spanish.
