I'm Jessica Tomforde, a death doula, grief guide, and founder of blue jae, based in Portland, Oregon. I support individuals, families, and caregivers navigating aging, terminal illness, active dying, grief, and end-of-life decision-making.
My work is informed by a unique combination of experience: 15 years of operational leadership, a 9-month Nine Keys death doula training program, a year-long residency as a doula at BeLoved Hospice, and extensive experience supporting Medical Aid in Dying through my volunteer work with End of Life Choices Oregon. I am a knowledgeable companion who brings time, steadiness, practical support, and presence. I help you fill out the form and then light the candle.
Services include advance care planning, end-of-life companionship, vigil planning and support, MAID and VSED support, grief companioning, legacy projects, caregiver support, and community gatherings. I serve the Portland metro area, travel within a 50-mile radius, and offer virtual support when appropriate.
